The granting of Life Membership is a way to honor those who have given many years of service to the Georgia Beekeepers Association. As you can read in the bylaws below, the board will review your nomination and if they vote to recommend this person for a Life Membership, it will then be voted on by the membership at the Annual Membership Meeting.
The GBA bylaws state:
Section 1. C: LIFE: Life Membership may be awarded, at the discretion of the Corporation, to those active members who have given exemplary service to the Corporation. Such members shall enjoy all rights and privileges which would have accrued to them as an active member, but shall be excused from payment of membership dues. Life membership must be recommended to and voted on by the Board of Directors, and approved by a majority vote of the members present at an Annual Membership Meeting.
