1. Tryouts will be April 1, beginning at 4:00 in the band hall.
2. Candidates will be expected to perform a solo (this will also be performed for UIL and each candidate will be responsible for providing music) to audition individually.
3. Candidates will learn a group routine to audition as a group.
4. A group routine will be taught March 23 from 3:45-5:30. (This will be a field routine.) This practice will be MANDATORY.
5. Tryouts will be closed to the public but friends and family MAY wait with you for results.
6. A parent meeting and fitting will immediately follow results.
7. Good Sportsmanship is expected from all involved in tryouts regardless of the outcome.
8. Attire for tryouts will be a solid white or maroon shirt with solid black shorts or Capri leggings, and tennis shoes or jazz shoes (jazz shoes are preferred). "Nike" or any other athleisure shorts are fine as long as they are black.
9. A communication platform for members selected will be announced after tryouts.
10. Disciplinary records, academic records, as well as band staff and teacher recommendations will be considered before tryouts. This will be continually monitored throughout the season.
11.Head twirler may or may not be chosen at the discretion of the judges and sponsor. If a candidate chooses to be considered for this position, you must be a current HS twirler and be prepared to answer interview questions prepared by the judges and sponsor.
12. A parent and candidate meeting will be held February 16 at 5:45 in the Band Hall.
