COVID-19 Aid Work with Day One Disaster Relief
Day One Disaster Relief is setting up an aid clearinghouse at 1620 Guess Road in Durham (Google Maps link here:
) for those harmed by COVID-19. Two types of volunteers are needed to help make this work: people who will be working inside the clearinghouse to sort donations and supplies, and drivers who will drive supply drops to those in need. There will also be need for volunteer support in eastern NC.
If you are going to volunteer for this, you will need to remain self-isolated, aside from doing this specific work. If at any point you have come into direct contact with someone who might be infected, either symptomatic or asymptomatic, DO NOT volunteer for this. If you are at risk or are living with someone at risk for complications from COVID-19, DO NOT volunteer for this.
If you have any further questions, contact NC Piedmont DSA at
and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
