The SC Middle School staff would like to inform you of the classroom management plan. We believe lifelong success depends upon making responsible choices. The plan below outlines our classroom rules. Grades K-8 will participate in Character Education/bully prevention activities throughout the year. Classroom rules:

· Follow Direction (Citizenship/Responsibility)

· Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself. (Trustworthiness)

· Act responsibly by arriving to class with materials before the bell rings. (Responsibility)

· Act respectful to others by not teasing or creating classroom distractions. (Respect/Fairness)

· No use of cell phones in the classroom. (Citizenship)

· No severe behavior...insubordination, destruction of property, fighting, cheating or plagiarism, or bullying.

Consequences

1.) Warning

2.) 5 minutes after class/tardy to next class

3.) Sent to the principal-remain until period ends with the parents being informed.

4.) Severe behavior will result in following the steps outlined in the Civility Policy located in the Parent Handbook. The consequences range from in-school detention to out of school suspension and finally expulsion. Parents will be notified in writing of any severe behavior. It is the parent’s responsibility to provide transportation for any detention after school.

5.) Bullying incidents will receive consequence listed on page 13 of the Parent Handbook.
