Registration: Theatre Program info sessions (prerequisite for applying to The AMY Project's Theatre Program)
The AMY Project's Theatre Creation Program is a FREE arts mentorship & performance creation program for young women and non-binary youth ages 16-22.
This is AMY's most well-know and longest-running program. We work in partnership with Canadian Stage, SummerWorks Festival, and Scadding Court Community Centre.
With The AMY Project Theatre Creation Program, you have the opportunity to work with some of Toronto’s most exciting artists and create & perform your own work in a fun and supportive community!
More information:
The 2020 Theatre Program is led by co-directors kumari giles and Julia Hune-Brown, along with assistant director Morgan Davis. The program runs in two parts: Part One (Theatre Creation) sessions will take place on Monday nights from January-May 2020; Part Two (Performance Intensive) will run full weeks in late July and early August 2020. (You should only apply if you know that you are available on Monday evenings in January-May, but it's okay if you are not yet sure of your summer schedule.)

The program is open to women and non-binary folks ages 16-22. AMY is queer and trans positive and welcomes participants of all abilities, all cultures, all levels of experience in the arts, and all backgrounds.
You should apply if you are serious about developing your performing arts creation and performance skills. It is a program for people who are interested in learning how to tell their own stories; who want to be in an affirming creative space where they can bring their whole selves and identities to the work; who want to connect with professional artists; and who are up for an eight-month commitment to learning and creating with a group of peers.
