EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS AT RETREATS:
I am aware that the High School Retreat is envisioned as an intentional Christian Community. I want to come to this event and will help build community by:
· Striving to live out the covenant God made with
me in baptism.
· Being open to the Holy Spirit’s work in
deepening my faith, being open to new friendships with other Christians from
around South Carolina and understanding the importance of community by my
presence and full participation in the event, including meals. My behavior will reflect the faith we share in Jesus Christ.
· Attending the FULL EVENT and remaining on the grounds of Coastal Retreat Center throughout the event.
· Not bringing drugs (except prescribed or other required medications), alcohol, tobacco and vaping products, or weapons to the event.
· NOT BRINGING electronic media devices to the event. (CELL PHONES must be left in your room and may only be used during free time. Adults should carry cell phones in case of emergency.)
· Conscientiously observing Room Time / Lights Out.
· Believing that all persons are made in the image of God, treating everyone with respect and dignity and showing care for the facility and staff.
· Being aware of and refraining from actions which
constitute inappropriate or unwelcome touching of others, sexual harassment,
other sexual misconduct, or suggestive or inappropriate language, and
maintaining relationship boundaries that are appropriate to a community-building
event.
· Being aware of and refraining from insulting,
discriminatory, or demeaning language and actions.
· Understanding that I may be asked to leave the event if I am not able to meet these expectations.
