MLK Day of Service with Old Colony YMCA of Brockton!
Dr. King’s dream is a charge, a call to action, an injunction ordering America, its citizens and non-citizens, to be the great nation we all know it can and should be. At every stage of this Day of Service youth will discuss King’s dream, America presently, and their dream of what America will be for their children. Guests will engage in a day filled with workshops focused on financial literacy, resume/career readiness, painting a mural, sorting food donations, and more!

Event date and time: Monday, January 21, 2019 (MLK Day), 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Location: Old Colony YMCA Central Office 320 Main St. Brockton, MA 02301

Parking: There are three parking lots available: 40 Father Kenney Way; 320 Main Street; and 15 Bolton Place. Handicap accessible parking only at 465 Main Street.

Note about registration: Guests 15 years and older should register themselves.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a canned good or nonperishable item to support our residential sites as a part of our Brockton-wide canned food drive.

OCY supports three residential sites and stabilization services to re-housed families in the community, supporting over 110 families and 240 children this past year. We work to remove barriers for our families, including food insecurity. While we often get donations around the holidays, once those have passed, we often have scarce supplies in our food pantry. Hosting this food drive will help us to ensure our families have substantial support long after the holiday season has passed.

We would like to thank our sponsors the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship and the Center of Community Service at Northeastern University for supporting this event!
