2025 Summer Camps
Below you will find  all summer camps that the Sitka Conservation Society/Alaska Way of Life 4-H project is involved in. Many summer camps are partnerships with other organizations. Feel free to reach out to allie@sitkawild.org with any questions regarding summer camp sign-up. 

The camps ending at 12:30pm were set up so youth can be then brought over to the Parks and Rec afternoon camp for full day childcare coverage.

2025 Summer Camp Offerings 

*Sheet'ká Splash Mountain Camp - Waitlist only
Dates: May 27-30 and June 3-6 (Tuesday-Friday two-week camp)
Time: 10am-4pm each day
Grades: Rising 6th +
Description: Join us for a two week camp, Tuesday - Friday from 10am-4pm to learn how to more safely recreate, harvest and live on the water and land through outdoor experiences. This camp focuses on water and survival skills. Youth will build their skills and confidence being around water and build community with others through outdoor adventure!

Bike Club
Dates: Mondays, June 9th- July 7th
Time: 3-4pm
Grades: Rising 4th+
Description: Practice bike-riding on the cross trail. Bike Club is an afternoon biking program that supports youth in growing confidence in biking skills and provides them a chance to learn in a fun environment. We are looking for a relatively consistent group of youth so we can build a community throughout the summer and improve our skills. This is a great opportunity to prepare for our Bikepacking Overnight Adventure in July. See more below. Reach out to allie@sitkawild.org with questions.

Hiking Camp
Dates: June 11th and 12th
Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm
Grades: Rising 4th+
Description: Join us for an opportunity to hike on trails and bond through experiences in the forest. Additional activities may include art, plant ID, and fun! This is a partnership between Sitka Trail Works, Youth Advocates of Sitka and the Sitka Conservation Society/4-H. Contact kolby@sitkawild.org with questions.

Backpacking Camp
Date: June 11th, 12-13th overnight
Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm on the 11th &12th, until 12pm on the 13th
Grades: Rising 6th+
Description: Explore the Tongass through hiking and backpacking, gain confidence in carrying all your gear on your back, setting up camp, bonding with friends and sleeping in a tent. Additional activities may include fire-building, swimming, and fishing. This is a partnership between Sitka Trail Works, Youth Advocates of Sitka and the Sitka Conservation Society/4-H. Reach out to kolby@sitkawild.org with questions.

Kayak Camp - Waitlist Only
Dates: June 30-July 2
Time: 9am-12:30pm
Grades: Rising 5th+
Description: This camp is a partnership between the Sitka Conservation Society’s 4-H Project and Southeast Alaska Independent Living (SAIL.) During our time together, as 4-Hers and SAIL consumers, we will grow our community, have fun, work together and learn safety skills all while exploring the Sitka Sound in kayaks. Bikepacking Overnight Trip - Waitlist Only
Dates: July 9th 1pm- July 10th 11am
Description: Together we will bike out the cross trail to the Gájaa Héen/Starrigavan area to camp overnight. Experience a fun overnight with friends and feel accomplished after your bike ride. Activities will include biking, setting up camp, cooking, sleeping (!) and the potential for swimming and fishing.

Culture Camps
Dates: June 23-26th for 2nd-5th, July 15-17 for 6th+, July 21-24 for K-3rd, 
Times: 9am-12:30/1pm
Description: Youth will be able to build connection to land, self, and community through activities rooted within Tribal Values. This camp supports connection with culture and the land and sea. Activities may include harvesting, processing and sharing foods/art in community.

Camp Interest Form
The sign-up for the following camps will begin the first week of April in a combined sign-up with the Sitka Native Education Program and the Sitka Conservation Society. Please indicate your interest and we will reach out in early April to sign-up.

Summer camp fees are due when you receive an email that your spot is confirmed. The link will be included in the email.
