    1. About CESCA - a new way of working in Cork!

Fourteen community and voluntary organisations have recently come together, with the support of the HSE Social Inclusion Services Cork, to the Cork Equal and Sustainable Communities Alliance (CESCA). Building on previous successful collaborations, the diverse member organisations share a common goal of social inclusion and social justice: CESCA unites these groups into one collective with a common purpose of enhancing inclusion and equality in Cork city. CESCA demonstrates a new way of working that will support and strengthen the social inclusion services being delivered in Cork city by recognising local community competencies and harnessing these for equitable social change. By working together, CESCA will facilitate the effective pooling of resources and expertise, maximise existing resources and address gaps in service provision.

    2. About this CESCA COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP TRAINING

This CESCA Community Leadership Training is one of two first initiatives being launched by the Cork Equitable and Sustainable Communities Alliance (CESCA), which will be funded by the HSE South. The aim of the training is to enhance capacity, particularly in the community and voluntary sector in Cork City, to bring about positive change in the community. In particular, it will help volunteers and staff, both new and experienced, to better understand the principles underpinning equality, social inclusion and social justice. It will also focus on practical ways to apply these in our work or volunteer roles. It will create a new space for peer support, sharing of experience, and learning from each other. The initiative is open to people involved at different levels in community and voluntary settings and other settings, whether as volunteers, committee members, or project staff. It is open to people with different experience levels, different responsibilities and different education backgrounds. The training provided through this initiative will be free of charge. Please forward this to others you feel may be interested.
