HorsePower Participant Interest Form
HorsePower serves children ages 6-18 who are struggling with emotional issues, including (but not limited to) PTSD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, ADD, ADHD, and Mood Disorder.

HorsePower is NOT a riding program. HorsePower is Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). Below is a brief description of the differences:

HorsePower is NOT a Riding Program.  The difference between a Riding Program and EAP/EAL is based on the goals of each focus. In a nutshell: Riding lessons teach you how to ride a horse; equine therapy partners with a horse to help you heal or grow.

About Equine Assisted Services...
  • Goal: To support mental, emotional, physical, or developmental health through interactions with horses.
  • Focus: Building emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills; Improving physical coordination and motor skills (especially in physical or occupational therapy); Supporting therapy goals for individuals with conditions such as autism, PTSD, anxiety, depression, or trauma
  • Instructor (Therapist): A licensed therapist (e.g., mental health counselor, occupational therapist) with training in equine-assisted therapy; May also involve a certified equine specialist
  • For Who: Individuals with specific therapeutic needs—physical, cognitive, behavioral, or emotional

HorsePower Fees
Group (EAL) Class: $50 DEPOSIT for first class. Must be submitted with Individual Client Release Form.
Additional $50 per class may be paid as classes occur. If a partial or full scholarship is needed to cover sessions (excluding the $50 deposit), please make arrangements with the instructor.

Individual (EAP) Session: $75 DEPOSIT for first session. Must be submitted with Individual Client Release Form. Additional $100 per class may be paid as classes occur. If a partial scholarship is needed to cover sessions (excluding the $75 deposit), please make arrangements with the Program Director. 

Scholarship applications will be reviewed and a scholarship schedule will be presented during your in-take session.
