South End Stories’ driving question is ‘How can trauma-conscious, culturally sustaining arts education empower Black, Brown, Indigenous and Asian students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, while driving systemic change in school districts?’. The organization is committed to working with, by and for communities of color towards collective liberation.
South End Stories is recruiting board members who believe in the organization’s mission and vision and have a history in or an appreciation for storytelling, filmmaking, theatre, arts as resistance and liberation, or the interconnection of art and technology. We prioritize individuals who have lived experiences of intersectional marginalization, such as those who identify as part of the global majority, LGBTQIA2S+, immigrants or migrants, or have experience with the carceral system.
We invite board members who bring perspectives from marginalized communities—voices that are often excluded from dominant structures. South End Stories believes that the answers lie within the communities we serve.
