Investigative Journalism Summer Program, MSU/UC, June 2019 - Michigan, USA
The Michigan State University (MSU) School of Journalism and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) School of Communications invite journalism students to participate in the “Investigative Journalism Summer Program” on the campus of MSU in East Lansing, Michigan, from May 30 - June 10, 2019.

The goal of the program is to improve participants’ investigative journalism skills, providing a better understanding of norms, ethics, reporting routines, and business models in professional investigative journalism in the U.S.

The program combines lectures and field visits to local news outlets. Participants will train at MSU’s new state-of-the-art interactive newsroom, learn from our award-winning faculty and visit newspapers, television, ethnic media and news radio in mid-Michigan.

All costs including round trip ticket from Chile to Michigan, lodging, and meals will be covered by MSU.

The program will be taught in English, so English comprehension is required. Students must have an average grade of 5.0 or higher to apply, and must have taken investigative journalism classes (Taller de Periodismo Avanzado) or be enrolled in TPA at the time of the program.
