The Rabbi Micah Caplan Memorial Youth Experience Scholarship Fund
The Rabbi Micah Caplan Memorial Youth Experience Scholarship Fund is NOW AVAILABLE for Or Tzion members who are in good standing.
Deadline for submissions for summer 2023 is Sunday March 5, 2023
Applications for the Rabbi Micah Caplan Memorial Youth Experience Scholarship Fund from Congregation Or Tzion are now being accepted. Thanks to generous congregants, donors, and various fundraising efforts here at Or Tzion, we have made it a tradition to help make Jewish overnight camp more affordable for our families.
The Rabbi Micah Caplan Memorial Youth Experience Scholarship Fund was established to remember our beloved rabbi’s passion for encouraging youth to participate in meaningful Jewish youth experiences. Donations to this fund help to provide scholarships for Congregation Or Tzion youth to attend Jewish overnight summer camp and partake in organized teen Israel programs and March of the Living.
In addition applying to Congregation Or Tzion, congregants applying for financial assistance are highly encouraged to apply to other resources, which may include:
Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix, Jewish Free Loan (Interest Free Loans), The Harold & Jean Grossman Foundation (for Israel trips), Program Specific Scholarships. The purpose of this scholarship is to ensure that no child is denied a Jewish youth program experience due to a family's inability to pay. Each submission will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and allocations will be determined based on available funding.
All requests for summer 2023 MUST be submitted by Sunday March 5, 2023. This deadline is firm. No exceptions.
Please note that only Or Tzion members in good standing will be considered. In addition, the camper must already be registered at camp/program in order to be considered. All essays & information will be kept confidential within the Camp Scholarship Committee. All applicants will be notified no later than March 31, 2023.
