What are the ways that LITS offers research help?
Mount Holyoke’s Library, Information, and Technology Services (LITS) supports you in your research. The LITS liaisons of the Research and Instructional Support (RIS) group are here to help. This tutorial will demonstrate how you can connect with LITS and RIS, both online and in person, to take full advantage of their services.
There are two main ways to access research help services:

1. The Research Help Desk.

2. The LITS Liaisons.

These services are supported by the Research and Instructional Support team within LITS.  Let’s have a look at both of them.

1. Research Help Desk (RHD):
The Research Help Desk is the best place to go for immediate research assistance. It is located across from the circulation desk on the second floor of the library and staffed Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

The staff at the RHD can answer questions, help you locate resources (books, articles, media) in the library and online or refer you to subject specialists if you have an in-depth question.

 2. LITS Liaisons
About the Liaisons
LITS Liaisons are librarians and subject specialists who can help you refine your research questions, locate sources that will help you answer those research questions, and show you how to cite them in your bibliographies using bibliographic management software like Zotero or RefWorks. LITS Liaisons are happy to set up individual appointments to work with you on research. You can e-mail them individually in order to schedule a time or if you are still unsure about which liaison is the best choice for your topic, send an e-mail to the whole group at ris-d@mtholyoke.edu.
