Evaluating the Potential for Energy Recovery  in Municipal Water Distribution Networks
Municipal water distribution networks (WDNs) consume large amounts of energy, making them one of the largest municipal energy users. However, some of this energy is not required to safely deliver water and can be recovered. One solution is to replace pressure reducing valves (PRVs) with pumps-as-turbines (PATs), to recover energy instead of dissipating it. The present survey seeks to investigate the potential of using PATS across Canadian WDNs.

The survey is divided into two sections and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
