Open Buffalo is a community movement for social and economic justice. The Emerging Leaders program is a distinctive social justice curriculum aimed at building a stronger Buffalo by preparing new grassroots leaders in our city. If you are accepted into the program, you will participate in training sessions, learn new skills, and build a network of movers and shakers.
The Emerging Leaders program is highly competitive. Not everyone who applies will be accepted. Applications will be accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis through July 26, 2017. If you make it to the next round, you will receive a follow-up email from the Open Buffalo leadership development committee and will be asked to an in person interview. All applicants must be able to commit to the full schedule at the time of application. The program begins with a four day opening retreat at Beaver Hollow Conference Center in Java Center, NY from August 17 through August 20.
**In addition to the following application, all applicants are required to submit a one-page letter of recommendation from someone who can speak to your leadership and/or community organizing skills. There is space at the end of this form to specify your reference.
