Professional trainers are not required to join the rescue, however, you must complete this application.

In consideration of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society allowing my participation in this activity, under the terms set forth herein, I, the RIDER/PARTICIPANT, and the parent or guardian thereof if a minor, do agree to hold Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society harmless and release its officers, coordinators, judges, facilitators, premises owners, insurers, and affiliated organizations from legal liability due to Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society’s ordinary negligence; and I do further agree that except in the event of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society’s gross negligence and willful and wanton misconduct, I shall not bring any claims, demand, legal actions and causes of action, against Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society and/or its associates, for any economic and non-economic losses due to bodily injury, death, property damage, sustained by me and/or my minor child or legal ward in relation to the premises and operations of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society to include while riding, handling, or otherwise being near horses owned by or in the care, custody and control of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society.

I understand that Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society will make every reasonable effort to hold the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge on the date advertised. However I also understand that natural or manmade disaster, including but not limited to hurricane or tropical storm, tornado, flooding, fire, pandemic, etc., might require that the event be postponed to a later date or possibly cancelled. If this happens, Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society will make every effort to contact each applicant to inform them of the change in date as soon as possible.

I understand that this is a judged competition, and I may not win prize money. Whether or not I win prize money, Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society will not pay training fees, boarding fees, or other expenses incurred that are not explicitly listed in the rules of the Training Challenge.

By signing the agreement below, I agree to the following terms:1. I agree and understand that Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society reserves the right to request a background check, including criminal records to verify personal information.2. That no one aside from me will handle my Training Challenge horse from the time I pick him/her up through the Training Challenge date. 3. I agree to trailer my Training Challenge Horse to the Training Challenge at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor, Texas (for October) or the Salt Creek Arena in Boyd, Texas (for May) whether or not I compete in the Challenge. 4. I agree to foster my Training Challenge Horse for the duration of the Training Challenge and for an additional two months after the Training Challenge unless my foster horse is adopted before then. (Note: This 2 month period does not apply to professional trainers).5. I agree to abide by the BEHS Minimum Standards of Care, Standard Veterinary Procedures and Veterinary Procedures Policies. 6. I understand that I am responsible for daily care of the equine(s) I foster, including (but not limited to) cost of grain, hay, shavings (if needed), and other costs incurred in routine care of the equine. Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, Inc. will be responsible for vet care of the equine(s) in accordance with the Veterinary Procedures Policy unless injury to the equine is caused by my neglect or actions. BEHS will also be responsible for reimbursing for paste de-wormers and hoof trimming. BEHS will reimburse for corrective farrier work, supplements, and/or medications if pre-approved by the Foster Home Coordinator. BEHS will also pay a stipend of $60/month to be used to help (but not entirely cover) the cost of hay and grain for the equine. 7. I understand that my Training Challenge horse will be offered for adoption at the Bluebonnet Horse Expo or May Training Challenge and Adoption Event. I understand that I may adopt my Training Challenge horse at the Expo or May Training Challenge Event for its current adoption fee only if I notify the Adoption Coordinator and Training Challenge Coordinator of my intention at least three weeks prior to the Training Challenge and pay their adoption fee no less than 14 days before the Training Challenge. Otherwise, my foster horse will be eligible to be adopted by someone else at the Training Challenge. 8. By signing this application, I agree not to hold Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society liable in the event of injury, death, or damage to any human, animal or property as a result of activities or actions of the equine I am assigned for the Training Challenge. 9. In addition, I, the undersigned, have read and understand the following warning:WARNING UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE), AN EQUINE PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ACTIVITIES.

Liability Release: I AGREE THAT: In consideration of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society allowing my or my child’s participation in the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge and under the terms set forth herein, I, for myself and and/or heirs, administrators, personal representatives, or assigns, do agree to hold harmless, release, and discharge Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, its owners, agents, employees, officers, directors, representatives, assigns, members, and Insurers, and others acting on its behalf (hereinafter, collectively referred to as "Associates"), of and from all claims, demands, causes of action and legal liability, whether the same be known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, due to Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society and/or ITS ASSOCIATES negligence; I shall not bring any claims, demands, legal actions and causes of action, against Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society and ITS ASSOCIATES as stated above in this clause, for any economic and non-economic losses due to bodily injury, death, property damage, sustained by me in relation to the activities or the horses of BEHS, to include handling, riding, or otherwise being near horses owned by or in the care, custody and control of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society
