Roundhouse Build - Expression of Interest
Thank you for getting in touch about a Roundhouse Build with the Shift Bristol Practical Sustainability Course.

This is a unique collaboration opportunity between yourselves as our potential roundhouse client, and our Practical Sustainability Course students. 
  • Please see the photos at the end of this form for a visual idea of what can be achieved.

Dependent on the size and specification of your roundhouse;
  • The build cost : £7.5 - 10k.
  • The build specification: a max-sized 5.5m diameter roundhouse, with a timber frame, green roof, benches in alternating archways, and 3 bays of chest to shoulder height walls constructed with a mixture of cob and straw bale. (It is possible that we can build more walls in the scope of the build -  if the capacity and skill set of the student cohort allows, but this is the minimum guarantee).*
* Any additions to this can be carried out after the build and would be outside of the aforementioned fee. It is possible that members of the Sheltercraft team can carry out some of the additional work, and this is organised with direct and independent discussion with them.

We aim to prioritise social enterprises and charities using the space for community benefit.

If you are unsure you can contact a planning consultant and we can provide the technical drawings and relevant documentation. 

We would recommend contacting a planning consultant immediately as the process can be lengthy.

If not, we can either build a compost loo for an additional charge (if enough advance warning is given), or you may wish to hire a portaloo.
