GEP Experiences and Planning Survey

We hypothesize that the current GEP model has fostered introduction of genomics/bioinformatics into the curriculum in schools where the faculty did not have formal education/training in the field. Moreover, the alumni workshop model has encouraged persistence and provided continual updates so that the curriculum continues to grow with technology. Alumni Workshops also promote a “community of practice” in which new ideas and effective strategies are shared across the group. Together these activities provide continuous professional development for faculty at all stages of their career arc and support sustained change. The questions in this survey are intended to test this hypothesis, enabling us to apply for further grant support to maintain and expand this model.
