Students at Northside are responsible for following the rules concerning their parking privileges. Failure to follow the rules can result in suspension and/or termination of parking privileges. Your vehicle could be subject to being towed and expenses if the rules and procedures are not followed. Permits may be issued to students with a valid driver’s license. Parking at Northside High School is a privilege NOT a right.

Any Additional Vehicles you might drive to school?
1. Student’s vehicles shall be parked in the assigned spaces. Students will display their permit in a visible area of the vehicle. Students found parked in faculty or visitor spaces may be towed away at the owner’s expense, along with any disciplinary consequences. A student must park in their assigned space and display their assigned parking permit at all times. *
2. Students are not allowed in the student parking lot during the school day without permission from an administrator. This is considered TRUANCY and subject to suspension. Lunch time is included as part of the school day. *
3. Permits are not transferable from person to person without administrative approval. Students that share their parking permit with others will lose their parking privileges. *
4. Students are responsible to report any changes in vehicle or license plates. *
5. Excessive tardiness will result in loss of driving/parking privileges. *
6. Students who leave campus without permission or proper check-out procedures will result in loss of driving/parking privileges. *
7. Students must follow all state and local driving and traffic laws while on campus. Failure to do so may result in traffic tickets and/or school discipline consequences. *
8. Reasonable care must be shown by all drivers and all traffic laws obeyed. Any reckless operation such as excessive speed, drifting, barking tires, or disregard for safety will result in loss of driving/parking privileges, disciplinary action or state citation. *
9. Student conduct can and will affect parking/driving privileges. North Carolina General Statute 115C-391(d1) states, “Lose Control, Lose Your License”. The revocation of a student’s driving permit will result if a student has been expelled, suspended for 10 days or assigned to an alternative education site for more than 10 days for committing one of the following offenses: Possession or sale of alcohol or controlled substance on school property or at a school sponsored or school related activity; *
9b. Student conduct can and will affect parking/driving privileges. North Carolina passed a Bill in 1999, entitled “Lose Control, Lose Your License”. The revocation of a student’s driving permit will result if a student has been expelled, suspended for 10 days or assigned to an alternative education site for more than 10 days for committing one of the following offenses: Bringing, possessing or the use of a weapon or firearm on school property; *
9c. Student conduct can and will affect parking/driving privileges. North Carolina passed a Bill in 1999, entitled “Lose Control, Lose Your License”. The revocation of a student’s driving permit will result if a student has been expelled, suspended for 10 days or assigned to an alternative education site for more than 10 days for committing one of the following offenses: Assault on a teacher or other school personnel on school property or at a school sponsored or school related activity. *
