CDE Youth Leadership Symposium -- Peer Mentor Interest Form
Are you a college student with a disability? We invite you to volunteer as a peer mentor for disabled high school students during our one-day Youth Leadership Symposium!

Topics of discussion will include leadership skills, independent living, disability rights history, and Dr. King's concept of creative maladjustment.

Event Details:
  • Date: Monday, January 19th, 2026 (in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Location: Denney Hall, The Ohio State University
Deadline to apply: Wednesday, January 14th at 5:00 PM.

This event is co-sponsored by the Mental Health & Disability Alliance and Disability Studies Program at The Ohio State University. The event will be taking place alongside the Disability Studies Program Open House.

Peer mentors will:
  • Support small groups
  • Share lived experience
  • Help facilitate actives 
Perks:
  • Free lunch will be provided
  • Certificate of service hours
  • Disability community building
