Open Calls for Refugee Solidarity Summit 2020
We would like to hear from you if you have lived experience of forced migration or if you work directly with refugees or migrants - particularly if you are from a small/frontline/grassroots organisation. The format of your contribution is up to you and could include:
Set the discussion agenda - Suggest topics you would like to see covered at the summit
Participatory workshops or trainings
Key Speaker talks
Panel Discussions (I.E. small panel discussion groups and larger audience participatory activities)
Seminars - information sharing, strategic planning - resulting in Pledges.
Experiential work and Storytelling.
Harvesting - Visual mapping, data harvesting and knowledge production.
Holistic Activities - wellbeing, therapeutic, reflective and reconciliatory.
Recreational - Socialising, relaxation and networking and a marketplace area (with individual spaces for participating groups to outreach to the public, network with each other)
Cultural - Food, music, performance and visual arts
Whether you want to showcase success stories or share difficult experiences, your ideas are welcome and have a place at the Summit.
Things to consider
Remember that we want a diverse program that addresses all of the themes through all of the event Zones.
So here are some tips:
Think creatively - Could it be a workshop, could it be a documentary or spoken work performance rather than a talk.
Avoid cliches- Such as assuming that difficult topics have to be ‘serious’ talks in the Action Zone- eg an output which addresses the hostile environment theme could be a workshop on self care in the field held in the Reflection Zone.
The Boring Stuff - Please Make sure you refer to to the deadlines specifications to ensure that you are able to meet them before applying to submit a proposal. Full guidelines can be found here:
We aim to reply back as soon as possible. Proposal submission does not guarantee a placement at The Summit.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 31st 2019
If you would like to submit a topic anonymously then please do so by omitting your name and contact details from the form below.
