Winner will represent Sebastian County at the Arkansas State Fair Talent Showdown to be held in Little Rock, Arkansas in October. *
Talent Show Rules:  

1.   Contestant must compete in and win the Talent Contest sanctioned by their County Fair.  Contestants must legally reside in the county they represent for six months immediately preceding the county contest or must be a full-time student who has attended school (academic, not dance, etc.) in that county for one full semester immediately preceding that county's contest. In the event a contestant's parents are divorced and live in separate counties, and have been court ordered to reside jointly with both parents, a contestant may only compete in one of the two counties in which the contestant's parents reside.

2.   After winning at the county level, no substitutions of individuals in any act will be allowed at the State Contest. Also, contestants may not change categories after winning at the county level, but may change selection of song, music, outfit. 

3.   If a county winner is unable to compete at the State Contest, the County Contest Director can appoint a runner-up to replace them. 

4.   A contestant will ONLY be allowed to compete in two (2) categories. 

6.   Talent presentation must not exceed three (3) minutes at state competition. 

7.   A contestant may enter both the Talent Contest and the Queen or Teen Pageant.

8.   Talent contestants must submit entry form by deadline date. No exceptions. 

9.  Failure to abide by any of the above rules will result in disqualification. 

11.  A local winner who has won grand champion at State Fair on final night is not eligible to compete at county fair talent show in that category until they have set out one (1) year.  

12.  All contestants must provide their own instruments, cords, or amps. 

13.  Background vocals are not suggested; excessive use of background vocals will result in point deduction. Time overage will also result in point deduction.  

14.  Previous year talent show winners at county level are eligible to compete.

15.  MUSIC MUST BE EMAILED prior to competition.  No flash drives, cell phones, or CD's will be accepted the day of the competition 

16.  All contestants other than winners are eligible for the District fair, AROK State Fair Talent Show

Talent Categories

VOCAL SOLO shall consist only of a vocal performance by one vocalist. CD’s used for accompaniment will be allowed to provide limited vocal background but is not suggested.


VOCAL GROUP shall consist of two or no more than ten vocalists. No other talent may be performed. CD’s used for accompaniment will be allowed to provide limited vocal background but is not suggested.


VARIETY shall consist of a performance of one or no more than twelve people. This category is intended to provide a proper showcase for those acts in which multiple talents are displayed. Acts that fit the description of any other category will not be allowed to compete in this category. The following acts qualify for this category: vocal solo with accompaniment, juggling, ventriloquism, magic, are the only allowable categories. We do not allow dancing, tumbling, or gymnastics at Sebastian County Fair. No act may include a drum set(s), beat boxing, paint/watercolor, swords, any open flame or any form of liquid.


INSTRUMENTAL SOLO shall consist of an instrumental performance without vocal utterance by one performer. Taped accompaniment may be used. Contestants are encouraged to memorize their piece rather than use sheet music on stage. You must provide your own keyboard if needed, NO DRUMS!
