Social Justice Educate Moderators

I'm starting a subreddit that's meant to be a place where people with questions can get answers. Questions about race, sex, gender, disability, age, socioeconomic status, anything of that type. Even if the questions are based on incorrect premises, or offensive, or ignorant, or confused, if they're respectful, then I want them to get answers. And not just any answers, good ones. Thoughtful, informative, educational answers that make use of sources, explain thoroughly, avoid jargon and help people understand. More information can be found here: themerelyreal.wordpress.com/2013/05/05/blogathon-safe-spaces-for-racists/

If you're on board with this mission, then I'd love for you to be a moderator of this forum.
Required characteristics:
- Willing to delete or rewrite disrespectful, unhelpful or unproductive questions and comments, even if they are true, accurate or in normal situations (outside of this forum) appropriate
- Add to the community by answering questions, informing and educating with patience and charity
- Willing to put in the time to make good arguments for positions, and have them criticized (respectfully)
- Willing to be wrong, and to admit it.

(Some optional but very interesting reading on this approach to moderation can be found here: http://lesswrong.com/lw/c1/wellkept_gardens_die_by_pacifism/)

All questions are optional, but the more I know about you, the easier it will be for me to tell whether you'd be good for the forum. Answers can be pretty short, just a few sentences.

Even if you don't become a moderator, please come participate in this experiment by asking and answering questions!
