The Eugene Kids In Transition to School (KITS)  summer program is intended for students who will be entering kindergarten in Fall, 2024.  

During the KITS program your kids will:
*Learn to make friends & cooperate
*Build beginning reading & counting skills
You will:
*Learn skills to reduce parenting stress
*Learn how to connect with your child’s school

KITS is free and open to all incoming 4J Kindergarten students! We encourage all interested families to apply. Families will be notified about the status of their application by the beginning of May.

KITS is a 2 hour program and will run 4 days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from June 28*, 2024 through August 8, 2024.
(Friday, June 28th will be our KITS kick off, with Parent/caregivers attending as well. No programming on Thursday, July 4th. (See Calendar for details)

KITS will be offered at 3 regional locations with morning and afternoon options as follows:
           River Road/Camino del Río                     Holt                                 Edison
AM:   8:00 - 10:00                                                 8:00 - 10:00                   9:00 - 11:00
PM:   12:00 - 2:00                                                 12:00 - 2:00                   1:00 - 3:00

The Eugene KITS Summer Program follows the Eugene School District health and safety protocols.

El programa de verano Eugene Kids In Transition to School (KITS) está destinado a estudiantes que ingresarán al kindergarten en el otoño de 2024. 

Durante el programa KITS, sus niños:
*Aprenderán a hacer amigos y a cooperar
*Desarrollarán habilidades iniciales de lectura y conteo. 

Usted también va a:
*Aprender habilidades para reducir el estrés de la crianza
*Aprender a cómo conectarse con la escuela de su hijo

¡Los KITS son gratuitos y están abiertos a todos los estudiantes entrantes al Kindergarten 4J! 

Animamos a todas las familias interesadas a presentar su solicitud. Las familias serán notificadas sobre el estado de su solicitud a principios de mayo. 

KITS es un programa de 2 horas y se ejecutará 4 días a la semana los lunes, martes, miércoles y jueves desde el 28 de junio* hasta el 8 de agosto de 2024. Our program begins on Friday June 28th with a KITS kick off day that includes parents/caregivers, then runs 4 days a week, July 1 - August 8, Mondays through Thursdays. Attendance is important. Please let us know if you are able to participate in the full program. Please list any dates that you will be unable to attend.

Parent Group is a component of KITS and will run in person once a week at the same time as your child's KITS group. Childcare for siblings will be provided. Friday, June 28th is the first day for KITS. All students, along with their parent/caregiver must attend. This is the first day for both Student and Parent Groups. Childcare for siblings will be provided. There will be no transportation available this day.
