Hi! I am high school student studying in AP Research and I have come to ask for your voluntary participation for my research project. I will be conducting a thorough content data analysis through participant responses in order to evaluate and compare different perspectives surrounding the topic of character development and representation of fictional characters within shōnen animanga and study how the aforementioned is portrayed and how it overall impacts a series and its characters representation as a whole. Take the time to read through the information below before filling out this survey.
Anyone who is knowledgeable on the topic of the genre shōnen and animanga is able to fill this form out!
Shōnen: a genre of Japanese comics and animated films aimed primarily at a young male audience, typically characterized by action-filled plots.
Procedure: This survey provides brief questions surrounding the topic of character development in shōnen animanga and the particular media of Hunter x Hunter. You do not need to be knowledgeable on the media of Hunter x Hunter to fill this survey as the form will prevent you from moving on to the last section if you submit the option of not having read or watched Hunter x Hunter. This survey may take up to 10 to 30 minutes depending on how detailed your responses may vary for each open ended question. In-depth answers are highly suggested and appreciated. I would like this form to be submitted by February 14th.
Purpose: The purpose of this survey is to provide me with thoughtful insight of ideas, opinions, and thoughts of others on what aspects and themes is to be considered crucial in development of a well written series regarding the genre of shōnen in animanga media and what underlying issues may exist that are worth addressing.

Benefits: While there may not be any direct benefits, your responses will greatly help me in gaining a better understanding of the overarching ideas and issues that appear within shōnen animanga.
