The First Nations Cultural Landscape Tour Providers are a community of students, faculty, and staff supported by the Office of the Provost in partnership with Campus and Visitor Relations.
The First Nations Cultural Landscape Tour is an award-winning, place-based, walking tour that welcomes guests to learn about the First Nations of Wisconsin. It provides an introduction to the 12,000+ years of human history along the shores of Lake Mendota. Participants visit UW-Madison campus buildings, historical markers, and archaeological sites to discuss historic—and contemporary—relationships with First Nations and the area known as Teejop (Four Lakes) and Madison.
Tours begin at the Memorial Union Information Desk and are not a loop. Tours are weather dependent and may be modified or canceled due to weather. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Requests for the Spring 2025 tour season, beginning in March 2025, may be submitted below.
We do our best to meet requests based on tour provider availability. We will follow-up with you in 7-10 business days to update you on the status of your request.
Thank you!
