Since its founding in 2000, Flagship Pioneering has originated and fostered the development of more than 100 scientific ventures resulting in $20 billion in aggregate value, 500+ issued patents, and more than 50 clinical trials for novel therapeutic agents. Flagship's VentureLabs® Fellows program recruits outstanding scientists, engineers, inventors and budding entrepreneurs to work hand-in-hand with seasoned professionals at Flagship through our uniquely entrepreneurial scientific exploration process, with the potential to ultimately produce pioneering new ventures.

The 12-week paid summer program is an exclusive opportunity for Ph.D., M.D., M.S., and science-minded M.B.A. students who are within one year of graduating or have just done so, to actively participate in Flagship VentureLabs' process for company conception, innovation and entrepreneurship. Fellows work with VentureLabs partners and associates on Explorations focused on significant market opportunities, involving the formulation and testing of venture hypotheses around new technological platforms. Each Exploration will have the potential to eventually advance to a Flagship-backed company.

In this presentation, Poorya Hosseini who is an associate at Flagship will give an overviews of the fellowship program and Flagship entrepeneurial ecosystem as whole, including employment opportunities in portfolio companies. Prior to joining the firm, Poorya completed his doctoral studies at MIT as well as a M.Eng. at McGill University
