2 May 2024 Insights from the Global South: Feminist Perspectives on the  Implementation of ICPD from Latin America, the Caribbean and  Africa | 9.30 - 11.30 AM | New York

During the 57th Session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD 57), Fòs Feminista, UNFPA, and partners are hosting a pivotal side event. This multi-stakeholder, feminist dialogue aims to shed light on the achievements and obstacles outlined in the Fòs Feminista reports concerning the implementation of the ICPD agenda. With a focus on empowering feminist civil society activists, the conversation will delve into effective strategies for enhancing regional and national policies on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for all genders. Featuring contributions from Member States outside the reports, the event promises enriching South-South exchanges and transnational dialogue. Stakeholders from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa will share insights on successful practices, identify gaps in the ICPD Programme of Action, and propose cross-regional strategies for overcoming these challenges, all through an intersectional, feminist perspective.
