Bookmobile stops must be free and open to the public, even when located at residential
communities, or private institutions.
Decisions about establishing or modifying regularly scheduled stops are based on the following
criteria:
1. Geographic alignment with current routes
2. Demonstrated community need or outreach value
3. Physical feasibility, including safe and sufficient space (parking, ADA accessibility) for
the Bookmobile
4. Availability of staff and resources
Community or neighborhood stops will generally not be added to the schedule if there is a branch within five miles of the requested location, unless the stop serves a population with demonstrated need for mobile library services.
The duration of the stop is at least one-half hour for a community stop. If few library users utilize a stop regularly, a shorter time may be scheduled.
Waitlisted requests will be considered for addition should an opening become available based on the geographic locations and timing of existing stops.
