New Student Mentee Interest Form for the UNM STEM Mentoring Program
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The UNM STEM Mentoring Program helps UNM STEM undergraduate students build a supportive relationship with a scientist or engineer from Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) or Sandia National Laboratories (SNL). Each pair of mentors and mentees meets for 1-3 hours a week throughout a semester. During the semester, the UNM STEM Collaborative sends occasional check-in emails, as well as hosts an introductory mixer, tour of AFRL laboratories, and an end-of-program celebration.

CITIZENSHIP
You must be a U.S. citizen to participate in the UNM STEM Mentoring Program. Students do not need to produce proof of citizenship for the Mentoring Program. However, proof of citizenship is required if the student wishes to visit AFRL or SNL on Kirtland Air Force Base.

ABOUT MATCHING
Matches are based on availability of mentors. We try our best to honor your requests and preferences, but we cannot guarantee a match. Priority for matches is given to first- and second-year students. Please direct questions to Tara Hackel at tshackel@unm.edu or 505-277-0878.
