This gathering, as an alternative space during the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings 2024, offers feminists and allies the opportunity to share global South feminist stories of resistance and reflections on the impacts of colonial, neoliberal, patriarchal, extractive economic hegemony on their lives, work/activism and contexts. The event will spotlight creative expression through art, a brief documentary, and readings including from the 80th anniversary feminist blog series recently produced by MENAFem and WEDO. Nourishment and feminist joy and liberation will be offered through snacks, drinks, and dancing accompanied by DJ Basbousa. As we mark the 80th anniversary of the Bretton Woods system, we aim to create a vibrant, alternative space to challenge its colonial legacy and envision a feminist future.
