This form is to review the report EKLIPSE PR 03b/2016: "How can environmental regulators support businesses to improve the outcomes of their operations for biodiversity, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises in the food and beverage sector in Europe?" (Draft) - Prepared by the EKLIPSE Expert Working Group on how businesses can improve the outcomes of their operations for biodiversity.
Following the method protocol, the EKLIPSE Business Expert Working Group has now drafted their work: a report on regulatory tools to improve biodiversity outcomes of small and medium-sized enterprises in the food and beverage sector. This report seeks to develop recommendations to find out which approaches European regulatory agencies could use when working with small and medium sized businesses in the food sector on the topic of biodiversity.
The draft report can be found on the EKLIPSE website and is open for consultation and review until 3 pm CEST, May 11th. The final editing and formatting of in-text references and the reference list will be undertaken after the report’s review. Also please note that this document reflects the results of a quick scoping review of the peer-reviewed literature, quantitative comparative analysis, expert consultation, and Bayesian decision analysis and is by no means comprehensive. It intends to cast an eye on the existing knowledge related to the approaches that environmental regulators use and could use to support businesses improving their outcomes for biodiversity, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises in the food and beverage sector in Europe. It is not intended for circulation; the final report will be made publicly available on the EKLIPSE website in June 2019. EKLIPSE is committed to ensuring the usability of all its products and is therefore organizing an open review process of this draft report engaging a range of stakeholders.
