Rules and Expectations
What is the event
Tora-Con’s Cosplay Lip Sync is a bracket-structure competition where contestants move on based on audience choice. Contestants lip sync to an approved clip of music, while the host or hosts provide introductions and humorous commentary. The event occurs on Sunday afternoon. (Currently scheduled for 2:30, but subject to slight change).

8 contestants and 2 backups will be chosen through audition forms. The event itself will have a pair of MC’s to open with their own number, and then they will introduce the contestants at the start of the battles. Two contestants will perform separately, then they will be brought out on stage for the audience to cheer for who should move forward. This will repeat for the bottom tier (4 matches, 8 performances, 2 minutes max each), then winners will compete in the semi-final (2 matches, 4 performances, 2 minutes max each), and there will be a single match finale. The finale match will feature a slightly longer performance from each contestant (1 match, 2 performances, 5 minutes max each). Any needed tie breakers will use a ~1 minute pre-selected clip and be performed by both contestants at the same time.

Participant Expectations
After a participant has been accepted (or waitlisted), they will be required to send the host their audio files for each round (should they advance) and reasonable progress and completion photos on their intended cosplay. Deadlines will be shared once participants are accepted. Participants are expected to edit their own music clips. Upon acceptance, participants will also be told what the tie-breakers are and should be ready to perform them if needed during the event.
Should a participant fail to send in their audio clips/cosplay progress, they will be replaced with someone from the waitlist. Should a participant fail to check in to the scheduled rehearsal time (the hour before the event) without reasonable warning, they will be replaced with someone from the waitlist. If conflicts arise, please let the host know ahead of time.

This is an all-ages event. Therefore, all music clips should be clean, and cosplays must follow the same rules as the rest of the convention (please refer to ). Refrain from rude gestures and cursing throughout the event, and please be respectful to all of your fellow performers.
