Dr. Zach Sperry is a Lead Biomedical Engineer with Iota Biosciences in Berkeley, CA, managing preclinical research projects supporting the transition of the company’s ultrasound powered “neural dust” platform from R&D to clinical trials. He is an alumni of Dr. Tim Bruns’ Peripheral Neural Engineering and Urodynamics (pNeuro) lab in the Biointerfaces Institute. His 2019 Biomedical Engineering PhD thesis was titled “Neural Interfacing with Dorsal Root Ganglia: Anatomical Characterization and Electrophysiological Recordings with Novel Electrode Arrays.” During his time at UMich he was also executive chair of BIONIC, completed a Translational Research Education Certificate, and started a kid’s neural engineering workshop program through Xplore. He completed his undergraduate BS BME at the University of Minnesota in 2014.
