4/29/12 Black Rock Forest
We will be going to Black Rock Forest for a moderate hike of about 6.4 miles.
This loop hike follows footpaths to the summit of Black Rock, with panoramic views, and returns on attractive woods roads.
This time of year is a good time to hike, with temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s. Please bring layered clothing so you can switch around as we hike. The weather looks to be in the high 50s t and partially cloudy. There is chance of rain, but its low so far, however any last minute significant chance of rain cancels the hike.
Hope to see you at the event! See below for all of the details
DIFFICULTY AND LENGTH OF THE HIKE
The hike is solid moderate hike of 4.5 miles long. It has some elevation changes and climbs to the summit of Black Rock, likely about 1000ft of elevation gain. Its a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10, and you should bring HIKING SNEAKERS OR BOOTS IF POSSIBLE. This is able to be hiked by a beginner but only if you can easily walk 5 miles. We will be hiking and exploring for about 4 hrs on the trail, so plan your clothing and food accordingly. BRING LUNCH.
