Education is a core part of our mission as a rescue and a crucial step in reducing overall neglect and abuse of rabbits. Before beginning this application, please review "Bunny 101," a resource provided by the Georgia House Rabbit Society, available here: https://www.houserabbitga.com/bunny-101-class-handout *
Section 1: Foster Guidelines
Please read these questions carefully in order to determine if you are eligible to foster a rabbit for Bunny Brigade Inc., as well as to determine whether fostering a rabbit is the right choice for your family.
I understand that all foster homes must be within a 45-minute radius of Wilkes-Barre, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia for easy access to veterinary care in event of a medical emergency, or to set up a meeting with a potential adopter. *
I understand that any rabbit experiencing a medical emergency must immediately be returned to Bunny Brigade Inc. If I am unable to contact a member of the rescue, I understand that I must immediately bring the rabbit to a rabbit-savvy vet, and that a list of vets will be provided to me. I understand that I will be reimbursed for emergency veterinary care. *
I understand that I am only able to foster 2 rabbits at any time, and that I am not permitted to arrange a private adoption without consulting the rescue; all adopters must be screened by Bunny Brigade Inc. *
I understand that Bunny Brigade Inc. will pay for all vet bills, including spaying/neutering and any necessary medical care. Please answer the following question regarding other expenses related to your foster rabbit's care, including but not limited to: basic enclosure and setup, food, litter, toys, hay, and fresh greens and other produce. (Note: We are happy to help our fosters in need - please answer these questions truthfully so that we can set each other up for success!)
Clear selection
I understand that rabbits generally do not prefer to be picked up or cuddled; rabbits are not "starter pets" or suited for young children. (For more information, please visit https://rabbit.org/faq-children-and-rabbits/) *
I understand that rabbits can and may be destructive, especially when bored, including chewing on furniture, walls, baseboards, carpets, and wires. I am prepared to rabbit-proof my home and keep him/her entertained with toys and enrichment activities for his/her happiness and safety. *
