Circular Design Challenge: #TrackingPlastics Design Research Event Host Interest Form
If you are interested in hosting an event please fill out the form below.
Love them or hate them, plastics are everywhere. Demand for plastics is expected to double in the next 20 years. Yet, a third of all plastic packaging ends up as litter in the environment. If nothing changes, there will be more plastics than fish in the ocean by 2050.
If we want to free our oceans from plastics, we have to fundamentally rethink the way we make and use plastic items. Before jumping to brainstorming solutions, we need to first lead with empathy. That’s why we’re kickstarting the Circular Design Challenge with a global event burst called #TrackingPlastics. We’re inviting you to host one of these events in your community:
1. Get a group together to interview someone who works with plastics. It can be a waste picker, a local recycler or an innovator in the space.
2. Get a group together to track the plastic packaging you encounter in a week, and host a conversation about your experience.
We are looking for events that take place between May 18 - May 28.
Once you fill out the form below, we will immediately e-mail you our #TrackingPlastics Event Toolkit. Your event and your city will be listed on our event page. We may also be able to help promote your event within our global community. By sharing your information below, we'll connect you to others who are working on events in their communities—so you can learn, share and grow alongside them!
We're humbled to partner with you on this global event burst. Together, we will spark inspiration and conversations that will help us reimagine plastics.
