Epanet is a freely-available—yet powerful—software package for performing hydraulic and water quality simulations on water distribution systems (WDS). Due to its speed, simplicity, and availability, it has become the industry standard for water distribution engineering.
This workshop will cover Epanet’s core features, including extended time simulations, control structure operation, and water quality monitoring. While some knowledge on hydraulics is recommended, we will briefly layout the theory behind the simulation engine and provide relevant references.
The workshop will be comprised of presentations on the motivation, background and theory of water distribution modeling, and a guided hands-on tutorial. We recommend you to bring your own Laptop with Windows to make the most out of the tutorial. We will not be able to provide computers for this workshop. No additional software is required.
