Arizona’s Magnificent Trees Program recognizes trees that are the largest of their species (Champion Trees), trees that have cultural or historical significance (Heritage Trees), and trees that have been verified to have witnessed Arizona’s statehood (Witness Trees). The Tree Owner Assistance Program supports the owners of these state treasures with guidance and technical assistance from Certified Arborists, and financial assistance when necessary. Landowners interested in the program should complete this form if they need assistance paying for maintenance on their Magnificent Tree.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the Arizona Community Tree Council's (ACTC:
aztrees.org) Magnificent Tree Owner Assistance Committee. Requests for funds up to $1000 will be accepted. Any tree work must be completed by an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist. You can locate a Certified Arborist using the ISA's Find An Arborist Page (
https://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist). If you have any questions about this process, contact the AZ Department of Forestry and Fire Management's Urban Forestry Specialist at
ucf@dffm.az.gov.
Thank you for caring for our state's Magnificent Trees!
