With the support of our sponsors, GIJN and Wits Journalism are offering fellowships to both established and young promising journalists in developing and transitioning countries to participate in this prestigious event. Competition is keen so you need to convince us that you'll make great use of the training GIJC17 offers. We will be offering between 40 and 60 fellowships to African journalists, and nearly 100 more for journalists elsewhere.
ELIGIBILITY:+ Open to full-time print, online, television, video, radio and multimedia journalists in developing or transitioning countries+ Experience in investigative or data journalism a plus
FELLOWSHIP REQUIREMENT:Following the conference, fellows are required to either produce a story or give a presentation in your home country, based on what you learned at the conference. Examples here: (http://bit.ly/2lOJhTu)
GIJC17 FELLOWSHIP INCLUDES:+ Round-trip airfare to Johannesburg, South Africa+ Hotel room for four nights+ Transport between Johannesburg airport and the conference hotel+ Breakfast and lunch on conference days+ Award ceremony banquet dinner+ Conference fee
NOTE: The fellowship does not include a per diem, visa fees, or transport to and from your home country airport. Fellows are expected to pay for these costs.
