ELIGIBILITY OF ENROLMENT FOR THE OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID COURSEAs regulated by Workplace Safety and Health Council, Ministry Of Manpower, companies enrolling employees for Occupational First Aid Course must attained at least secondary two education or level 5 of ESS Workplace Literacy and Numeracy.
INTAKE CAPACITYThe minimum intake for each class will be of 12 participants, up to a maximum of 18. Acceptance of a course application shall be subjected to class availability and on a first-come-first-serve basis.
COURSE CANCELLATIONSt John Singapore reserves the right to discontinue any course if the number of registered participants fails to meet the minimum class size criteria. St John Singapore will inform the participants in writing to suggest for postponement. Paid course fee can be fully refunded with request in writing from the company.
MEDICAL CONDITIONParticipants have to be medically fit. Participants with medical problems, such as bronchial asthma, any upper respiratory tract infection, orthopedic problems (e.g. slipped disc), are encouraged to consult their own doctors before attending the course. Pregnant ladies are advised to defer taking the course to at least 6 weeks after delivery.
PAYMENTAll Course Fees are subject to the prevailing GST rate (GST Reg. No.: M90361968Y).Payment of course fee shall be made at least two weeks prior to confirmation of course. For cheque payment, it shall be made payable to “St. John Singapore”.
COURSE SUBSIDYWDA funding is available for OFA, AFA+AED, AFA and CFA. For company-sponsored participant, fees must be paid in full to St John Singapore before applying for WDA subsidy.
COURSE FEE REFUND100% – Withdrawal notice received > 14 days. 50% – Withdrawal notice received 8 to 14 days before first day of course dates. 0% – Withdrawal notice received 7 days or less before first day of course dates.A deferment within 3 months is allowed with written notice received not less than 14 days from the commencement of the course.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTIONCourses are conducted in either English or Mandarin.
TRAINERS AND INSTRUCTORSCourses are led by St John Association-registered lecturers and instructors.
EXAMINATIONSEach participant is required to attain a minimum of 75% attendance, failing which he/she shall not be allowed to sit for both the written and practical examinations. Those who fail or miss the examination may write in with valid reasons to apply for a re-sit on payment of a fee:– First Aid re-test $10.70 (inclusive GST);– CPR+AED (under the OFAC) re-test $85.60 (inclusive GST).
CERTIFICATIONAll certifications (OFA, AFA, CFA, CPR+AED and BCLS) are valid for 2 years upon successful completion. Participants’ information must be provided correctly during enrolment. Replacement fee of $10.70 (GST included) will be levied for re-issuing of the certificate.
CAR PARKING FACILITIESParking lots in St John Headquarters are limited and the parking fee is at S$5.35 (inclusive of GST) per day.
SMOKE FREE CAMPUSSmoking is prohibited in our premises. Participant caught smoking will be reported to the NEA and subject to statutory penalties.
