"I’m running for Multnomah County Commission because District 3, now more than ever, deserves a leader who can fight for the interests of our East Portland families and communities – not multinational corporations – as we seize this opportunity to chart a new path forward after devastating years.

I am known for bringing people together to get results on the issues that matter most. Among all candidates running, I have earned the broadest and deepest coalition of endorsers. As executive director of Oregon Futures Lab and Color PAC, I expanded my work on diversity and inclusion to public offices throughout the state – because we know that the best policies and budgets come from having a diversity of viewpoints at the table. We know that the problems we face are decades-long in the making. And we know that we can’t solve problems with the same kind of thinking that created them. Our government has long been a target of corporate lobbyists — but I am a leader who comes from the community and is accountable to the community.

I care about the future of all people in our district because I’m raising my family here; what happens here matters. My vision for East Portland goes beyond having our basic needs met — it includes a thriving ecosystem of local businesses, community centers, arts & culture, resilience hubs, and accessible Greenspaces — on both sides of 82nd Avenue.
