What is MAP?
The Mastery of the Arts Program (MAP) is for students in Yuma Union High School District who are passionate about the arts. If you love creating, learning, and being part of an artistic community, this program is for you!
MAP connects students with professional artists from our local and extended community. These artists share their skills and experiences to help students grow, refine their talents, and build a strong arts network.
What Makes MAP Different?
MAP courses go beyond what’s offered at your high school. These specialty classes are designed for students who want more advanced learning in the arts.
- High expectations – MAP challenges students artistically and academically.
- Prepares you for the future – Great for students planning to pursue the arts in college or as a career.
- Unique format – Courses are taught in a college-style setting, meeting one day per week from 3:00-5:30 pm.
What Can You Study?
MAP courses focus on Performing Arts, Visual Arts, and Media Arts. Course offerings may change each year, but all will count as elective credit toward graduation.
