ASPS Volunteers 2026/2027 - Intake Form and VSC Instructions

The ASPS Parent Council is looking to gather parent volunteers for the coming school year(s) that could be called upon when needed. (For pizza days, sports team support, fundraising events, field trips and help in the classrooms and library)

To ensure the safety of all students, the Toronto District School Board requires specific police background checks for individuals volunteering in our schools. (this was not strictly enforced previously)

This means, if you wish to come into the classroom or volunteer on a trip, you will need to complete a Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check. (VSC)

In order to volunteer for the 2026/2027 school year, please fill in the form below.

How to Apply for Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check - Watch Video

Click 'Apply'
You will need to register and set a password
Select Vulnerable Sector Check: Volunteer ($26.72)

IMPORTANT FINAL STEP
After you receive the VSC (it can take a month), you MUST DOWNLOAD IT, scan/take a pic and email a scanned copy to policereferencecheckoffice@tdsb.on.ca for processing.

Please ensure when emailing the PRC office with your scanned copy of your police clearance, you include the following declaration in the body of your email with the attachment and the school you are volunteering at. “The attached document is a copy of the original and it has not been altered in any way”

Class Rep (does not require VSC) Act as a liaison between the School Council, the parents and guardians, and the classroom teacher. They support and promote communication between these groups, and aid in building community both within the classroom families, and in the greater school community. They will attend 4 council meetings a year, and help organize volunteers for teacher-identified needs.

Classroom Helper (Support your student's classroom by volunteering to help the teacher with classroom prep, class projects which require multiple adult helpers, and one-on-one reading with students (age dependent), to name a few. You do not need to commit to all opportunities--even one-time volunteering helps!)

Library Helper (Support school librarian to organize books and upkeep library)

Pizza Days (You do not need to commit to all days. Planned for the 2nd Thursday of every month. 11am to 12pm)

Movie Nights (Help at the event - ticket sales, handing out pizza and snacks)

Fun Fair (Help at the event - 1 hour shifts at entry gate, silent auction, also support for high school volunteers. Help with set up as well as tear down.)

Field Trips (For your child's class - teacher dependant - as well as Glee Club / Choir)

Athletics (Cross Country (Gr 1-8) , Track & Field (Gr 4-8), Grades 6,7,8 teams that include your child)
