Women of Color and the Vote
The Connecticut Historical Society, in partnership with Professor Brittney Yancy, will curate an exciting project documenting Connecticut’s women of color involved in the woman suffrage fight. The project culminates with six presentations, where new research will be shared with the specific intent to raise awareness about these women of color. We are seeking community assistance with gathering names, organizations, locations, and events that will help us tell a more inclusive story of Connecticut women for fought for suffrage. Please join us in this effort by completing this form.

Can you think of community women, church leaders, past public officials, teachers, or other leaders?
