PGR Connect: Grindleford Peaks Walk 05/07/24

We will get the train from Sheffield to Grindleford for our walk. This event is open to Postgraduate Research Students.

Meeting Location: Outside the front of the Sheffield train station.

You can buy your ticket in advance or on the morning of the walk. Off peak day return tickets from Sheffield to Grindleford are priced at roughly £5 (not including any railcard discounts you may have).

You can meet myself and Rob at 9:55am outside the front of the Sheffield train station, by the statue (of the salmon fish). I will get in touch closer to the time with those that have signed up about how you can get in contact with us.

We will start the walk in Grindleford, walk through Padley Gorge, up to Surprise View and back to Grindleford. We’ll stop at a cafe towards the end of the walk, and purchase you a soft drink. The walk is less than 2.5 hours (not including time stopped at the cafe). We will aim to return to Sheffield for roughly 2pm, but you are welcome to return at a later time.

This walk should be suitable for most abilities.

Remember to wear suitable footwear, bring a light rain jacket and a bottle of water.
