Master of Science in Reading and Literacy Reading and Literacy Added Authorization
Cal State East Bay offers two graduate reading programs, the Master of Science in Reading and Literacy (MSRL) and the Reading and Literacy Added Authorization (RLAA).

Courses for the RLAA are also required for the MSRL, so students work on both programs simultaneously. Students who transfer in eligible units from their credential programs take only 7 more units to complete the MSRL.

**Students may transfer in nine eligible units from an accredited post-baccalaureate credential program. Students without eligible transfer units will be required to take additional coursework. Upon admission, your advisor will review your transcript to make this determination and advise you accordingly.
