Ronald E. McNair Middle School is looking for curious, ingenious, creative learners who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Students who are interested in pursuing an educational track that emphasizes research, critical thinking, and problem solving should apply to the REM STEM Academy. The valuable experiences and exposure gained from our REM STEM Academy allows students to build connections through communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, citizenship, and character.
Due to the rigorous design and demands of the REM STEM Academy, applicants should meet the following minimum MAP scores:Rising 6th Grade Accelerated Math Eligibility: MAP Scores Mathematics 222+Rising 7th Grade Accelerated Math Eligibility: MAP Scores Mathematics 228+Rising 8th Grade Accelerated Math Eligibility: MAP Scores Mathematics 233+The application period has been opened and will close at 4:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2024.
NOTES:
- If a student is not zoned for Ronald E. McNair Middle School, but would like to attend our school for the STEM academy, please complete the application and email Ms. Hammonds, REM STEM Coordinator, indicating that your student is not zoned for McNair Middle School, but would like to attend for the STEM academy.
- Unlike School Choice, acceptance into the REM STEM Academy does NOT change an applicant's eligibility to attend McNair Middle School.
