If you've had experience of policing, discipline, or behaviour management in schools —whether as a young person, parent, carer, teacher, school staff member, or in another way—you're invited to share your story.
There are different ways you can take part:
- The form below provides some structure and prompts to guide you, which some people find helpful.
If you'd prefer a simpler version of this form with shorter questions and optional tick boxes, you can fill in the Easy Read version.
- If you’d prefer to share your experiences outside of the form structure, you can email schoolpoliceresearch@manchester.ac.uk or send a message or voice note via WhatsApp +447353139936
- Creative contributions like poetry or artwork are also welcome. If you'd like to share something in a different format, just get in touch and we’ll work out the best way to receive it.
This form is anonymous so that people can share their experiences as safely and openly as possible. Names or personal details won’t be used in anything published from the research. A small number of people may be contacted for a follow-up interview. If that happens, they can choose whether or not they want to be named. Your contribution is voluntary, and by submitting your testimony, you are giving consent for it to be included in this research. You can withdraw your testimony at any time before it is anonymised, and you do not need to give a reason - just send an email or WhatsApp message.
If you are under 16, please seek permission from a parent or guardian before submitting.
This research is led by
Dr Remi Joseph-Salisbury (Reader in Sociology, University of Manchester).
